A Reputation built over decades
Caves Development was founded by Gerry Herrod in 1972 with the purchase of a 30-acre track of land located in the western part of New Providence overlooking crystal blue waters and powder sands. A prime location for every aspect of Bahamian life.
Gerry Herrod’s son, Chris Herrod, commenced Phase One of Caves Development in 1996, Caves Point. A gated community of 67 homes built on a seven acre track of oceanfront land that still stands today as one of the most sought after addresses in New Providence.
Phase Two started in 2000. Caves Village, a 54,000 square foot retail, restaurant and office plaza designed as a courtyard development. In 2005 Phase Three was constructed comprising 18,000 square feet of office suites in Caves Village. Phase Four, a 100% pre-leased office centre at Caves Village, is under construction with an estimated completion date of Spring 2009. Phase Five is a 5-acre parcel of land under contract with a quality hotel operator to purchase and construct a 150 room hotel with breathtaking views. The final phase, Caves Heights, will complete the 15-year development program of Caves Development.
Each development strives to work with the environment offering clients supreme views and amenities while allowing for large areas for recreation and natural fauna and flora to flourish.
